Hello Friends and Well-wishers,

I’m Shrishti, a high-school student and soccer player with deep roots in India. Soccer has been one of the biggest influences in my life — it taught me teamwork, resilience, and confidence. It even helped me bounce back from a serious hip injury, showing me that sports is not just games — it is a lifeline. Sports is also the biggest life-skill I’ve learned — shaping how I work with others, how I handle setbacks, and how I believe in myself.

But what moves me most is knowing that across India, many girls are using sports in exactly the same way — to rise above enormous challenges, while also gaining life-skills through CRY’s programmes.

Take 11-year-old Sanjana from Kolkata, whose parents struggle to feed the family. She was the first to join kickboxing classes in her neighbourhood, despite raised eyebrows and questions. Alongside kickboxing, CRY mentors helped her build discipline, confidence, and leadership skills through regular sessions. Two years later, she stood tall with a silver medal at a national meet — and with even bigger dreams for herself.

Or the teenage girls in Jharkhand who formed their own football team, stepping into what was always considered a “boys’ domain.” Through CRY’s life-skills training, they’ve learned teamwork, self-expression, and the courage to claim their space. Today, they play in local tournaments and, more importantly, are building confidence to pursue education and leadership roles.

And there’s 17-year-old Singthanganbi from Manipur, once dismissed as “faint-hearted.” With support from her CRY coach, she overcame her fears, pushed her limits, and discovered her own strength. Now, when she runs across the football field, she’s not just training her body — she’s building resilience and courage to face life itself.

These stories inspire me deeply. Though I live far away, I feel connected through our shared love of sports and the lessons it brings. Their journeys remind us that sports and life-skills go hand in hand: both teach us to belong, to persevere, and to dream bigger.

That’s why I’ve partnered with Child Rights and You (CRY), an organization that works at the grassroots across India to ensure every child can live, learn, grow, and play. CRY’s sports-for-change programmes are rooted in one vision — to empower children with life-skills that will stay with them long after the game is over.

Campaign Goal

I’m aiming to raise ₹2,00,000 (approx. $2,400) through this campaign on the CRY website.

Impact of Your Support

Every contribution counts. Whether it’s $25, $50 or more, your support will ripple into real change.

Larger contributions will help CRY also provide children with education, nutrition, and protection.

Together, we can give hundreds of children the same joy, empowerment, and confidence that sports has given me.

Join Me

This campaign is not just about raising funds — it’s about giving children the right to dream and the freedom to play.
