Kaushiq Kodithodika is an Indian expat currently residing in Singapore. Along with a successful career in Banking and Investment Technology and fintech, he is passionate about human-powered watersports. The stories of the great seafarers fascinated him since childhood, and the intrigue soon became a dream of exploration. So began his ocean sailing journey.
He is now ready to take on his next adventure with Clipper Round The World Yacht Race. Considering this the race of his life, he hopes to become a better sailor, a better team player, and a better individual. It is also his goal to promote watersports and sailing among all, pay extra attention to children and make it more accessible to them in India.
Although India has an abundant coastline, rivers, lakes, and backwaters, he feels that access to the water is limited, whereas in many countries, it is an everyday activity and children learn to take risks as well as acquire skills as the deep learning benefits it provides. He is motivated to make sailing a mainstream sport, leisure activity, and even a means of earning a decent living. Kaushiq believes children & adults can learn so much from sailing and while enjoying the sport, or leisure activity, they will also end up promoting an ecofriendly culture that our society currently needs. Joining The Clipper Ocean Race is an effort he has taken part in to raise funds for a cause that is close to his heart. All funds raised will go towards helping us create a world full of opportunities for children.
He will hold a fundraiser for CRY to ensure education, health, and happiness for underprivileged children in India. –
“CRY has been known to me since my childhood as a well-regarded organization in India that focuses on children’s health and education. Any sport or skill will require time and effort if we are going to develop it with kids” – Kaushiq
How the donation will help:
CRY’s work focuses on child education, health and nutrition, protection from child labour and child marriage. CRY addresses children’s critical needs by working with parents, teachers, Anganwadi workers, communities, district and state-level governments as well as the children themselves to create sustainable change.
There are 472 million children in India today, but many of them are still unable to attend school. They do not get proper nutrition or healthcare, and are vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. Your donation will not only give India’s underprivileged children the happy childhood they deserve, but will also open doors for them to pursue their dreams. It doesn’t matter how small your donation is, it will make a big difference to the lives of children who need it!
